Removal Procedure
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Disconnect the backup lamp switch electrical connector (3).
- Remove the backup lamp switch wire harness from the bracket.
- Using a Snap-On™VSM5222 22 mm angle head open end wrench, or equivalent, remove the backup lamp switch (2).
Installation Procedure
- Apply pipe sealant with Teflon® to the threads of the backup lamp switch. Use GM P/N 1052080
or equivalent.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the backup lamp switch (2).
Tighten
The backup lamp switch to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
- Install the backup lamp switch wire harness to the bracket.
- Connect the backup lamp switch electrical connector (3).
- Lower the vehicle.
