Removal Procedure

    Important: A new sunroof module assembly will not have the sunroof window or the sunshade as components of the new service part.

  1. The old sunroof window and sunshade will need to be installed to the new sunroof module assembly.

    2. Object Number: 786927 Size: SH
  2. Remove the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement .
  3. Remove the sunshade panel. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement .
  4. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Cut the electrical tape (5) on the sunroof actuator in order to access the electrical harness.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector on the sunroof actuator (3).
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sunroof module (1).
  8. Cut the tie straps securing the electrical harness to the sunroof cable rear drive tube.
  9. Remove the sunroof control module.
  10. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the control module.

  11. Disconnect the drain hoses from the front sunroof module drain spouts (1).

  12. Disconnect the drain hoses from the rear sunroof module drain spouts.

    13. Object Number: 776057 Size: SH
  13. Remove the sunroof module to the roof bolts (1).
  14. Remove the 2 center, side to side, bolts last in order to help support the sunroof module to the roof ring.
  15. Remove the last 2 sunroof to roof ring bolts.
  16. With an assistant, lower and remove the sunroof module assembly out the passenger side door.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 776057 Size: SH
  1. With an assistant, position the new sunroof module assembly into the alignment pins (2) located on the roof ring.
  2. Hand start the 2 center, side to side, sunroof module assembly to roof bolts (1) in order to hold the sunroof module into place.
  3. Finger tighten the 2 center bolts.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the remaining sunroof module to roof ring bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten all of the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the front and rear drain hoses to the drain spouts (1) on the sunroof module.

    6. Object Number: 786927 Size: SH
  6. Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the sunroof motor/actuator.
  7. Secure the harness with new electrical tape (5).
  8. Install the sunshade. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement .
  9. Install the sunroof window and loosely install the screws. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement .
  10. Adjust the sunroof window (2). Refer to Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment .

    11. Important: Verify the proper operation of the sunroof before securing the headliner.

  11. Install the headliner, with an assistant. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
