Preliminary Procedures

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  3. Remove the air cleaner duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement

Suction Hose Bolt

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Suction Hose Bracket Retaining Nut

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Suction Hose Clamp

Procedure

Using J 45689 , disconnect the suction hose from the evaporator by pressing the probe end into the 2 small openings in the plastic quick joint.

Special Tools

J 45689 A/C Quick Joint Tool

Suction Hose

Procedure

Remove and discard sealing washer. Refer to O-Ring Replacement.

Suction Hose Replacement LSA

Removal Procedure
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement
  4. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement

    5. Object Number: 2177643 Size: SH
  5. Remove the suction hose bolt at the compressor.
  6. Remove the suction hose from the compressor.

    7. Object Number: 2177645 Size: SH
  7. Remove the suction hose bracket bolt from the engine.

    8. Object Number: 2180746 Size: SH
  8. Remove the suction hose bracket nut (1) from the wheelhouse panel stud.

    9. Object Number: 2177644 Size: SH
  9. Remove the suction hose from the evaporator core. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement11
  10. Remove the suction hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2177644 Size: SH
  1. Install the suction hose to the evaporator core. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement

    2. Object Number: 2180746 Size: SH
  2. Install the suction hose bracket nut (1) from the wheelhouse panel stud and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2177645 Size: SH
  3. Install the suction hose bracket bolt to the engine and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    4. Object Number: 2177643 Size: SH
  4. Install the suction hose to the compressor.
  5. Install the suction hose bolt to the compressor and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
  6. Install the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement
  7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement
  8. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  9. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
