Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2009 🢒 CTS 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L, or 3.6L 🢒 Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1985544 Size: SH
  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  2. Remove the fuel pipe shield. Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement.
  3. Disconnect the surge tank hose from the surge tank outlet pipe.
  4. Remove the surge tank outlet pipe bolt (1) from the cylinder head.

  5. Remove the surge tank outlet pipe bolt (1) from the thermostat housing.

    6. Object Number: 1985569 Size: SH
  6. Remove the surge tank outlet pipe (1) from the thermostat housing.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1985569 Size: SH
  1. Position the surge tank outlet pipe (1) with a NEW O-ring seal to the thermostat housing.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1985550 Size: SH
  2. Install the surge tank outlet pipe bolt (1) to the thermostat housing. Tighten the thermostat bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

    3. Object Number: 1985544 Size: SH
  3. Install the surge tank outlet pipe bolt (1) to the cylinder head. Tighten the thermostat bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
  4. Install the surge tank hose to the surge tank outlet pipe.
  5. Install the fuel pipe shield. Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement.
  6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
