Note: The piston oil nozzle assembly is designed to provide oil to the bottom side of the piston for cooling purposes. The internal check ball is held in the normally closed position by the spring until system oil pressure exceeds 20.7 kPa
(43.5 psi).
- Clean the nozzle assembly in solution.
- Inspect the nozzle assembly for the following:
• | damaged or cut O-ring seal |
• | A restricted or stuck-open nozzle assembly |
- With no oil pressure, the check ball should be seated and not permit flow through the nozzle tube. Using a blow gun, apply air pressure to the inlet portion of the bolt. Air pressure should unseat the check ball and permit flow through and out
of the nozzle tube.
