Preliminary Procedure

Remove the front side door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement.

Front Side Outside Door Handle Bolt Access Plug

Tip
Use a plastic flat-bladed tool to remove the access hole plug, located in the upper inner door area.

Front Side Door Outside Handle Cap Bolt

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Front Side Door Outside Handle Rod

Procedure

  1. With the inside door trim panel off, reach around to the inner door.
  2. Release the clip at the base of the door lock.
  3. Release the handle rods from the lock.
  4. Disconnect electrical connector.

Front Side Door Outside Handle Counterbalance

Procedure

From inside the door, pull downward on the door handle housing counterbalance and at the same time slide the outside door handle forward. This will release the outside door handle from the door handle housing.

Procedure

Ensure that the handle gaskets stays in place when installing the door handle.

Front Side Outside Door Handle Bolt Access Plug

Tip
Use a plastic flat-bladed tool to remove the access hole plug, located in the upper inner door area.

Front Side Door Outside Handle Cap Bolt

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Front Side Door Outside Handle Passive Entry Electrical Connector

Procedure

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Tip

    • Option (-UHA) passive entry is used on the front door only.
    • When using the passive entry pull once to open the front door.

Front Side Door Outside Handle Rod

Procedure

  1. With the inside door trim panel off, reach around to the inner door.
  2. Release the clip at the base of the door lock.
  3. Release the handle rods from the lock.
  4. Disconnect electrical connector.

Front Side Door Outside Handle Counterbalance

Procedure

From inside the door, pull downward on the door handle housing counterbalance and at the same time slide the outside door handle forward. This will release the outside door handle from the door handle housing.

Procedure

Ensure that the handle gaskets stays in place when installing the door handle.

Front Side Door Outside Handle Passive Entry Electrical Connector

Procedure

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Tip

    •  Option (+UHA) passive entry is used for both front and rear doors.
    • When using the passive entry pull once to open the front door, twice for the rear door.

Procedure

  1. With the inside door trim panel off, reach around to the inner door.
  2. Release the clip at the base of the door lock.

Procedure
