Preliminary Procedures

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement
4. Remove the A/C drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Removal - Left Side
5. Remove the A/C idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement
6. Remove the air cleaner duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
7. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement
8. Remove the suction hose. Refer to Suction Hose Replacement.
9. Remove the discharge hose. Refer to Discharge Hose Replacement.
10. If you are replacing the compressor, balance the compressor oil. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Oil Balancing

Compressor Bolt (Qty: 4)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
50 N·m (36 lb ft)

Disconnect compressor electrical connector.
