Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the windshield wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement.
  3. Remove the rear hood seal from the hem flange on the air inlet grille panel.

  4. Object Number: 1912987  Size: SH
  5. Remove the screws (1) securing the passenger side air inlet panel (2) to the plenum.
  6. Lift the passenger side air inlet grille panel (2) inward in order to disengage the three integral clips from the driver side panel.
  7. Remove the air inlet panel from the vehicle.

  9. Remove the retainer nut (1) securing the driver side air inlet panel reinforcement brace to the brake booster stud.
  10. Remove the push pin (2) securing the air inlet panel to the fender flange.
  11. Lift the driver side air inlet grille panel (3) over the wiper arm drive spindle and disengage the air inlet panel from the seven windshield frame and plenum panel clips.
  12. Remove the driver side air inlet panel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the driver side air inlet grille panel (3) to the vehicle, over the wiper arm drive spindles and secure the integral retainers to the seven windshield frame and plenum panel clips.
  2. Ensure the air inlet grille panel integral retainers are positioned and secured to the windshield frame and plenum panel clips.
  3. Install a new retaining nut (1) securing the driver side air inlet panel brace to the stud on the brake booster assembly.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the screw (2) to the inner fender flange and tighten to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  7. Position the passenger side air inlet grille panel three integral clips under the driver side air inlet panel.
  8. Position to the air inlet grille panel to the plenum.
  9. Install the screws (1) in order to secure the air inlet panel to the plenum and tighten to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
  10. Install the rear hood seal onto the hem flange of the air inlet grille panel.
  11. Apply palm pressure across the seal in order to secure.
  12. Install the windshield wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement.
  13. Close the hood.
