Front Brake Hose Replacement RWD
Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning in the Preface section.
Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution in the Preface section.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Disconnect the front brake pipe fitting (1).
Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove the front brake hose retainer clip (1).
- Remove the rear lower shock module bolt (1).
- Remove the brake hose fitting bolt (1).
- Remove the brake hose fitting gaskets (2) from the brake hose (3).
Discard the brake hose fitting gaskets.
- Remove the brake hose.
Installation Procedure
- Assemble the brake hose fitting bolt (1) with 2 new brake hose fitting gaskets (2) to the brake hose (3).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the brake hose assembly to the caliper.
Tighten
Tighten the brake hose fitting bolt to 49 N·m (36 lb ft).
- Install the rear lower shock module bolt (1) through the brake hose bracket and to the lower control arm.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the front brake hose retainer clip (1).
- Connect the front brake pipe fitting (1).
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
Front Brake Hose Replacement AWD
Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to

- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Disconnect the front brake pipe fitting (1).
Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove the front brake hose retainer clip (1).
- Remove the brake hose retainer bolt (1).
- Disconnect the wheel speed sensor wire harness clip (2) from the brake hose retainer.
- Remove the brake hose fitting bolt (1).
- Remove the brake hose fitting gaskets (2) from the brake hose (3).
Discard the brake hose fitting gaskets.
- Remove the brake hose.
Installation Procedure
- Assemble the brake hose fitting bolt (1) with 2 new brake hose fitting gaskets (2) to the brake hose (3).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the brake hose assembly to the caliper.
Tighten
Tighten the brake hose fitting bolt to 49 N·m (36 lb ft).
- Install the brake hose retainer bolt (1).
Tighten
Tighten the brake hose retainer bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the wheel speed sensor wire harness clip (2) to the brake hose retainer.
- Install the front brake hose retainer clip (1).
- Connect the front brake pipe fitting (1).
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
