Rear Compartment Lid Emblem/Nameplate Replacement 3.6

Rear Compartment Lid Nameplate (3.6)

Caution: Refer to Exterior Trim Emblem Removal Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

  1. The part and surface should be 21°C (70°F) prior to installation. The vehicle should remain 21°C (70°F) for one hour after assembly to allow adhesive to develop sufficient bond strength.
  2. Use a J 25070 Heat Gun or equivalent to remove the old nameplate. Clean all adhesive from the rear compartment panel and wipe the surface dry with a clean lint-free towel prior to installing the new name plate.
  3. When removing protective liners from the adhesive tape, be careful not to touch tape with hands and do not allow tape to come in contact with dirt or any foreign matter prior to adhesion.
  4. Using the palm of the hand, wet out the name plate to the rear compartment lid to ensure full adhesion of the name plate is made.

  4. Ensure the rear compartment lid is in the closed position.
  5. When removing protective liners from the adhesive tape, be careful not to touch tape with hands and do not allow tape to come in contact with dirt or any foreign matter prior to adhesion.
  6. Position and adhere the new nameplate to the rear compartment lid.
  7. Using the palm of the hand, wet out the nameplate to the rear compartment lid to ensure full adhesion of the nameplate is made.

  4. Close the rear compartment lid.
  5. When removing protective liners from the adhesive tape, be careful not to touch tape with hands and do not allow tape to come in contact with dirt or any foreign matter prior to adhesion.
  6. Align the pins on the wreath and crest to the holes in the rear compartment lid.
  7. Using the palm of the hand, wet out the emblem/name plate to the rear compartment lid to ensure full adhesion of the emblem/nameplate is made.
