Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Inlet Hose Replacement V6

Procedure

  1. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  2. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement.
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.

Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Hose

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet hose from the power steering cooler hose.
  2. Disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet hose from the remote power steering fluid reservoir.
  3. After repairs, fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.

Tip

    • Before repairs, remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
    • Before repairs, place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
    • After repairs, clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front compartment sight shields. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement.
  2. Remove the front intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  4. Remove the air cleaner resonator outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement.
  5. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  6. Siphon the fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir.
  7. Loosen the clamp and remove the reservoir inlet hose from the reservoir.
  8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  9. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  10. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield if necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement.

  11. Object Number: 2170423  Size: SH
  12. Loosen the clamp (3) and remove the reservoir inlet hose (4) from the cooler hose.

  13. Object Number: 2170431  Size: SH
  14. Remove the 2 fasteners (4 and 6) from the reservoir inlet hose (1).
  15. Remove the reservoir inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2170431  Size: SH
  1. Position the reservoir inlet hose (1) in the vehicle.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the 2 fasteners (4 and 6) to the reservoir inlet hose and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  4. Object Number: 2170423  Size: SH
  5. Install the reservoir inlet hose (4) to the cooler hose with the clamp (3).
  6. If you removed the front compartment lower noise shield, install the shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement.
  7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  8. Install the reservoir inlet hose to the reservoir with the clamp.
  9. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
  10. Remove the drain pan.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Install the air cleaner resonator outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement
  13. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  14. Install the front intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front.
  15. Install the front compartment sight shields. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement.
