Key In Ignition Switch Signal | 1, 2 | 1 | B2961 02 | -- |
1. Transmitter authentication will not initiate when pushing ignition control knob 2. Power Mode Mismatch |
The remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) monitors the key in ignition switch signal circuit as a means of initiating transmitter authentication. When the ignition control knob is pressed, the key in ignition switch (part of the ignition switch assembly) is closed. This grounds the key in ignition switch signal circuit and the RCDLR will being the transmitter authentication process.
If a fault exists on the key in ignition switch signal circuit or within the switch itself, transmitter authentication will not initiate when pressing the ignition control knob. Instead, transmitter authentication will only occur when depressing the brake pedal.
Ignition OFF.
The RCDLR detects the key in ignition circuit is active for greater than 3 minutes.
The key in ignition input is ignored.
• | A current DTC will clear when the condition for setting the DTC is no longer present. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 40 malfunction-free ignition cycles. |

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool RCDLR Authentication Switch parameter. The parameter should be Active only when the ignition switch knob is pressed.
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 5 for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the RCDLR. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the RCDLR. |
