Front Seat Replacement - Bucket CTS

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1969651  Size: SH
  1. Move the front seat forward in order to access the front seat track trim cover (1, 2).
  2. Remove the seat track trim covers (1, 2) from the seat track.
  3. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.

  4. Object Number: 1969652  Size: SH
  5. Remove the seat belt anchor trim cover (1).

  6. Object Number: 1969650  Size: SH
  7. Remove the front seat bolts (2) from the front seat (1).
  8. Remove the front seat belt anchor from the seat. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Front.
  9. Disconnect the seat electrical connectors.

  10. Object Number: 1969649  Size: SH
  11. With the aid of an assistant, tilt the seat up in the rear and slide rearward to disengage the seat (1) from the floor to remove from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. With the aid of an assistant, install the seat (1) into the vehicle.
  2. Insert the front tabs on the seat track into the floor.
  3. Connect the electrical connectors (1).
  4. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  5. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Install the seat track bolts (2) and tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Object Number: 1969651  Size: SH
  8. Install the seat track trim covers (1).
  9. Install the seat belt anchor into the seat. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Front.

  10. Object Number: 1969652  Size: SH
  11. Install the seat belt anchor trim cover (1).

Warning: Refer to SIR Warning in the Preface section.

Warning: Replace the passenger presence system as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.

Warning: To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  2. Re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References for replacement and setup information.
  3. Remove front seat adjuster track finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement.
  4. Disconnect the front seat retractor anchor by removing the nut. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Front.

Tighten
6 N·m (53 lb in)

Front Seat Assembly

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the front seat electrical connector, and passenger presence system connector, if equipped.
  2. After removing bolts, tilt seat forward and pull rearward.
