Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning in the Preface section.

1. Block the rear drive wheels.
2. Release the electronic park brake cable tension, if equipped. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling.
3. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
5. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
6. Remove the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement.



7. Disconnect the park brake cable from the actuator.
8. Remove the parking brake actuator (1).

1. Install the parking brake actuator (1).
2. Connect the park brake cable to the actuator.
3. Install the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement.
4. Adjust the park brake. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment.
5. Set the electric park brake cable tension. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling.
6. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
