Navigation Radio Turns On Unexpectedly - keywords intermittent

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

A customer may comment the navigation radio turns back ON when starting the vehicle even though the radio was turned OFF when they last shut the vehicle off. They may also notice that if the radio is turned OFF (blue Cadillac screen is displayed) while using OnStar® or the in-vehicle Bluetooth® system, it will turn back ON when the phone call is complete. The cause is the radio software.

DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS. New navigation radio software is expected to be available later this year. This software will be made available as a service software update disc. A separate service bulletin will be published when the new software is available.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
