Tools Required

    • J 36660-A Torque/Angle Meter
    • J 42065 Crank Hub Holding Tool
    • J 42098 Crank Hub TORX® Socket

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 217371  Size: SH
  3. Mount the J 42065 to the crankshaft gear.

  4. Object Number: 159205  Size: SH
  5. Complete the following in order to remove the crankshaft gear bolt:
  6. • Counterhold the crankshaft gear using the J 42065 .
    • Remove the crankshaft gear bolt using the J 42098
    • Discard the crankshaft gear bolt.
  7. Remove the crankshaft gear.
  8. Remove the oil pump collar.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 159205  Size: SH
  1. Coat the lip of the crankshaft front oil seal with a small amount of clean engine oil, to aid in installation.
  2. Install the oil pump collar fully into the crankshaft front oil seal.
  3. Install the crankshaft gear to the crankshaft.

  4. Object Number: 217371  Size: SH
  5. Mount the J 42065 to the crankshaft gear.
  6. Complete the following in order to install the new crankshaft gear bolt:
  7. 5.1. Counterhold the crankshaft gear using the J 42065 .

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Notice: Refer to Torque to Yield Bolts Notice in the Preface section.

    5.2. Install the new crankshaft gear bolt using the J 42098 .
    5.3. Tighten the crankshaft gear bolt in sequence:

    Tighten

    1. Tighten the crankshaft gear bolt to 250 N·m (184 lb ft).
    2. Using the J 36660-A , rotate the crankshaft gear bolt 45 degrees.
    3. Repeat the sequence turning the crankshaft gear bolt an additional 15 degrees.
  8. Remove the J 42065 from the crankshaft gear.
  9. Install the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement .
