J 22912-B Split-Plate Bearing Puller

1. Remove the 10 ring gear bolts (1) and the ring gear (3) from the differential carrier (2) using a punch and a hammer through the bolt hole.



2. Remove the differential pin (1) from the differential case (2) by pushing it out.




Important: Keep the pinion gear (4) and the washer (5) together.

3. Rotate the axle side gears (3) to spin out the pinion gears (4) and the washers (5) from the differential carrier (1).

Important: Keep the axle side gear (3) and the washer (2) together.

4. Remove the axle side gears (3) and the washers (2) from the differential carrier (1).



5. Using the J 22912-B and a press, remove the left side bearing. It may be necessary to cut the cage and remove the rollers so the tool will grip the race.



6. Using the J 22912-B and a press, remove the right side bearing. It may be necessary to cut the cage and remove the rollers so the tool will grip the race.
