Clutch Assembly Replacement M35

J 33169 Clutch Alignment Arbor

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 479575  Size: SH
  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Manual Transmission - M35.
  2. Remove the clutch pressure plate bolts (1).
  3. Remove the clutch pressure plate (2) and driven disc (4) from the dowel pins on the flywheel (3).

Installation Procedure

Important: When the clutch driven plate requires replacement, the engine flywheel must also be replaced along with the clutch pressure plate as an assembly.

  1. The splined portion of the driven plate protrudes out of the plate more on one side than the other. The side that protrudes out more is the flywheel side. The arrow in the graphic indicates the front of the vehicle, or flywheel side of the driven plate.

  2. Object Number: 802769  Size: SH
  3. Install the clutch pressure plate (2) and driven plate (6) to the dowel pins on the flywheel (5).
  4. Install the clutch pressure plate bolts (1) finger tight.
  5. Use the J 33169 in order to align the clutch driven plate to the clutch pilot bearing.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Tighten the clutch pressure plate bolts in the sequence shown, starting with the number one and following in numerical order.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch pressure plate bolts in sequence and evenly over 3 increments with the fourth increment to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  9. Remove the J 33169 .
  10. Install the manual transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Manual Transmission - M35.
