Draining Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid drain plug area.

    3. Object Number: 779334 Size: SH
  3. Remove the transmission fluid drain plug and washer.
  4. Allow the transmission fluid to drain into an appropriate container for proper disposal.
  5. Clean away all dirt and debris from the drain plug magnet.

    6. Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 779334 Size: SH
  6. Install the transmission fluid drain plug and washer.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

Filling Procedure
  1. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid fill plug area.

    2. Object Number: 779331 Size: SH
  2. Remove the fill plug and washer (1).

    3. Object Number: 2327 Size: SH
  3. Fill the transmission with DEXRON®-III transmission fluid, until even with the bottom of the fill plug hole.

    4. Object Number: 779331 Size: SH
  4. Install the transmission fluid fill plug and washer (1).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
