Removal Procedure
- Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
- Remove the power steering pulley. Refer to
Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement
.
- Disconnect the power steering reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.
- Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts (1,2, and 3).
- Remove the power steering pump.
Installation Procedure
- Install the power steering pump.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the power steering pump mounting bolts and tighten in sequence (1, 2 and 3).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
Important: Clean the material from the power steering pressure hose and install a new seal
- Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.
Tighten
Tighten the hose to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
- Install the power steering pulley. Refer to
Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement
.
- Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
.
