Discharge Hose Replacement LA3, LY9

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.

  3. Object Number: 756141  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolt (2) that holds the compressor discharge hose to the compressor.
  5. Separate the compressor discharge hose from the compressor.

  6. Object Number: 756175  Size: SH
  7. Remove the bolt (1) from the condenser.
  8. Disconnect the discharge line from the condenser.
  9. Remove the discharge hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the O-rings. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  2. Install the discharge hose.
  3. Connect the discharge hose to compressor.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 756141  Size: SH
  5. Install the discharge hose bolt (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9.8 N·m (87 lb in).

  7. Install the discharge hose to the condenser.

  8. Object Number: 756175  Size: SH
  9. Install the bolt (1) to the discharge hose.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).

  11. Install the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  12. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  13. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
