Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

- Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement
.
- Loosen the bolt (1) that secures the horn assembly (2) to the body 4 full turns.
- Grasp the horn assembly (2) on both sides and rock it back and forth in order to pull it forward on the stud.
- Slide the horn assembly (2) rearward in order to locate the stud in the large portion of the keyhole slot (4).
- Disconnect the horn electrical connector (3) from the horn assembly (2).
- Pull the horn assembly (2) outward in order to remove it from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the horn electrical connector (3) to the horn assembly (2).
- Install the stud of the horn assembly (2) into the large portion of the keyhole slot (4).
- Slide the horn assembly (2) forward in the keyhole slot (4).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Tighten the bolt (1) in order to secure the horn assembly (2) to the body side rail.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the lower air deflector. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement
.
- Lower the vehicle.
