Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear fascia extension. Refer to
Rear Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement
.
- Remove the push-in retainers (2)
by cutting with diagonal cutters.
- Open the rear compartment.
- Remove the rear sill plate. Refer to
Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Remove the nuts (1) securing the fascia (2) to the
rear end panel.
- Remove the bolts (3) securing the fascia to the horizontal
joint at the quarter panel (4).
- Remove the fascia by sliding rearward to disengage the fascia
from the rear bumper brackets.
Installation Procedure
- Position the fascia (2)
to the body.
- Align the studs on the fascia to the holes in the rear end panel.
- Install the fascia to the quarter panel pressing into place until
fully secured.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts (1) to secure the fascia to the rear end panel.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts (1) to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Position the fascia to the horizontal joint at the quarter panel (4).
- Install the bolts (3) in order to secure the fascia to
the quarter panel (4).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 3 N·m(27 lb in).
- Install new push-in retainers (2)
to secure the fascia to the floorpan.
- Install the sill plate. Refer to
Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Install the rear fascia extension. Refer to
Rear Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement
.
- Close the rear compartment.
