Power Mirror Replacement Power
Removal Procedure
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Disconnect the power mirror wire harness electrical connector (3).
- Remove the mirror fasteners (4, 5, 6).
- Remove the mirror (1) from the door.
- Pull the wiring harness through the hole in the mirror patch.
Installation Procedure
- Route the mirror wiring harness through the hole
in the mirror patch.
- Seat the grommet (2) into the hole in the door frame.
- Install the mirror (1) into the door frame.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the mirror
fasteners in the following sequence:
Tighten
- Tighten the top mirror fastener (4) to 9 N·m
(80 lb in).
- Tighten the forward mirror fastener (5) to 9 N·m
(80 lb in).
- Tighten the rear, lower mirror fastener (6) to 9 N·m
(80 lb in).
- Connect the power mirror electrical connector (3).
- Install the door trim panel. Refer to
