Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement With Control Module
Removal Procedure
- Lower the formed headliner
in order to access the sunroof actuator. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
Important: If the sunroof window is partially closed, remove the actuator first
before moving the sunroof window forward.
- Cut the electrical tape (5) securing the electrical harness to
the sunroof actuator.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (1,3) from the sunroof
actuator (4).
- Remove the screws (2) securing the sunroof actuator (4)
to the sunroof module.
- Remove the sunroof actuator.
Installation Procedure
- Manually move the sunroof window to the full closed position.
- Install the sunroof actuator (4)
to the sunroof module.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the sunroof actuator screws (2).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 5.8 N·m (51 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connectors (1,3).
- Apply new electrical tape (5) in order to secure the electrical
harness to the sunroof actuator.
- Verify the sunroof operation.
- Install the formed headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
