Test Description

The number below refers to the step number on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step tests the integrity of the heated seat switch signal from the rear integration module. This signal is a momentary 35 millisecond one shot pulse signal that is monitored through a momentary voltage change in the volt meter when the switch is pressed. In order to accurately recognize the change in voltage, the volt meter reading should be stable before performing this test.

Go to Step 20

Go to Step 15

9

  1. Disconnect the heated seat module connector C2.
  2. Measure the resistance between the element supply voltage circuit and the element control circuit of the module connector.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

6 ohms

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 10

10

  1. Disconnect the heated seat back connector.
  2. Measure the resistance between the element supply voltage circuit and the element control circuit of the seat back heating element.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

6 ohms

Go to Step 19

Go to Step 18

11

Important: If the resistance is measured with the seat still warm, the resistance may vary outside of the specified range since the thermistor resistance varies with temperature.

Measure the resistance between the signal circuit of the temperature sensor and the low reference circuit of the temperature sensor.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

850 ohms - 1150 K ohms
