Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the rear compartment interior release handle (1) from the rear compartment lid.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear compartment lid latch.

  5. Object Number: 735003  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolts securing the rear compartment lid latch to the rear compartment lid.
  7. Remove the rear compartment lid latch and release cable assemblies from the rear compartment lid.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 735003  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid latch to the rear compartment lid.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fasteners in order to secure the rear compartment lid latch to the rear compartment lid.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (2) to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the rear compartment lid latch.
  6. Install the rear compartment lid latch interior release handle to the rear compartment lid.
  7. Install the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement .
  8. Close the rear compartment.
