Removal Procedure
- Remove the push-in fasteners securing the fender sound insulator to the front fender.
- Remove the fender sound insulator.
- Mark the position of the hinge on the body.
- Support the door.
- Remove the hinge bolts (1) from the body.
- Remove the hinge bolts from the door.
Important: Replace only one hinge at a time then repeat procedure for the second hinge, if needed.
Installation Procedure
- Align the hinge to the marks made on the body during removal.
- Install the hinge to body bolts (1).
- Install the hinge to door bolts.
- Remove the door support.
- Install the fender sound insulator.
- Adjust the door. Refer to Door Adjustment .
- Touch up any paint damage to the hinge and the bolts with body color paint.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the hinge to door bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Notice: Striker alignment is a crucial part of door latch operation. Do not use the door striker to adjust the door to the vehicle. Failure to properly adjust the striker can result in damage to the door latch and the striker.
