Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  3. Object Number: 728904  Size: SH
  4. Support the lower control arm with a suitable jack.

  5. Object Number: 725841  Size: SH
  6. Remove the brake pipe bracket retaining nuts.
  7. Remove the brake pipe bracket (2) from the mounting studs (1).

  8. Object Number: 783094  Size: SH
  9. Remove the lower control arm to the knuckle mounting bolt.

  10. Object Number: 783092  Size: SH
  11. Remove the trailing arm to the knuckle mounting nut and bolt.

  12. Object Number: 802118  Size: SH
  13. Support the frame with a suitable jack.
  14. Remove the front bolts from the rear frame.

  15. Object Number: 802137  Size: SH
  16. Lower and support the front of the rear frame.

  17. Object Number: 802182  Size: SH
  18. Remove the trailing arm to the rear frame mounting bolt and nut.
  19. Remove the trailing arm.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 802182  Size: SH
  1. Install the trailing arm.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the trailing arm to the frame mounting bolt and nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).


    Object Number: 802137  Size: SH
  5. Remove the support from the frame and raise the frame into position.

  6. Object Number: 802118  Size: SH
  7. Install the front bolts in the rear frame.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 265 N·m (195 lb ft).


    Object Number: 783092  Size: SH
  9. Install the trailing arm to the knuckle mounting bolt and nut.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 175 N·m (129 lb ft).


    Object Number: 725841  Size: SH
  11. Install the brake pipe bracket (2) to the mounting studs (1).
  12. Install the brake pipe bracket retaining nuts.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 783094  Size: SH
  14. Connect the lower control arm to the knuckle.
  15. Install the lower control arm to the knuckle mounting bolt.
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the lower control arm to the knuckle mounting bolt to 175 N·m (129 lb ft).

  17. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  18. Lower the vehicle.
