Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable.
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Remove the RF floor air outlet.
- Remove the I/P compartment. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Bend downward at the accordion
section of the supply duct in order to remove the duct from the side air vent.
- Disconnect the temperature
actuator connector.
- Access the temperature actuator from the I/P compartment cavity.
The temperature actuator is located at the top of the HVAC module close
to the I/P carrier.
Important: The actuator linkage may need to be rotated in order to access the screws
for the following step.
- Remove the actuator screws.
- Remove the temperature actuator from the linkage.
- Remove the temperature actuator from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the temperature
actuator in the vehicle.
- Install the linkage to the temperature actuator.
Important: The temperature actuator linkage may need to be rotated in order to
access the screw holes for the following step.
- Install the temperature actuator screws until fully seated and not stripped.
- Connect the temperature actuator connector.
- Install the supply ducts:
• | Insert the supply duct into the module. |
• | Bend at the accordion section in order to position. |
- Install the I/P compartment. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Install the RF floor air outlet.
- Connect the battery negative cable.
- Reprogram applicable accessories.
- Synchronize the actuators:
• | Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. |
• | Simultaneously press and hold the AUTO and OFF buttons on the
ECC control panel for at least 5 seconds. |
