Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Remove the RF floor air outlet.
  4. Remove the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  5. Object Number: 153302  Size: MH
  6. Disconnect the defroster valve actuator connector.
  7. Important: The actuator linkage may need to be rotated in order to access the screws for the following step.

  8. Remove the actuator screws.
  9. Remove the actuator from the linkage.
  10. Remove the actuator (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 153302  Size: MH
  1. Install the actuator (1).
  2. Install the actuator to the linkage.
  3. Important: The actuator linkage may need to be rotated in order to access the screw holes for the following step.

  4. Install the actuator screws until fully seated and not stripped.
  5. Connect the actuator connector.
  6. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  7. Install the RF floor air outlet.
  8. Connect the battery negative cable.
  9. Reprogram applicable accessories.
  10. Synchronize the actuators:
  11. • Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    • Simultaneously press and hold the AUTO and OFF buttons on the ECC control panel for at least 5 seconds.
