- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Make sure that the transmission is in the PARK position.
- Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position so that the park
lamps are ON.
- Cover the photocell on the windshield side with a dark cloth.
- Shine a light on the photocell on the mirror side.

- Move the transmission to the REVERSE position.
- When the transmission is in the REVERSE position, the inside rear
view mirror will gradually lighten to a clear state.
- Move the transmission back to the PARK position.
- When the transmission is put back to the PARK position, the inside
rear view mirror will gradually darken again.
- Remove the cloth from the inside rear view mirror.
- The inside rear view mirror will gradually lighten to a clear
state when the cloth is removed.
