Without Memory

Battery voltage is supplied to terminal 5 of the outside remote control rear view mirror switch when the ignition switch is in the ON position. Ground is supplied to terminal 6 of the outside remote control rear view mirror switch at all times. Battery voltage and ground are supplied to the LH and RH outside rear view mirrors through the outside remote control rear view mirror switch.

Each outside rear view mirror has two reversible motors. One motor adjusts the mirror UP/DOWN and the second motor adjusts the mirror LEFT/RIGHT. These motors are both controlled by the outside remote control rear view mirror switch. The outside remote control rear view mirror switch controls the polarity of the voltage to the motors. The outside remote control rear view mirror switch contains a rocker switch which directs the voltage to either the LH or RH outside rear view mirror.

With Memory

The memory system is a combination of the electrically adjustable driver's seat and the electrically adjustable outside and inside rear view mirrors. The inside and outside rear view mirror position can be stored via the personal keys on the driver seat adjuster switch. The LH and RH outside rear view mirrors can be adjusted by using the outside remote control rear view mirror switch. The inside rear view mirror can be adjusted manually.

The inside and outside rear view mirrors contain two motors and two potentiometers. One motor is for the UP/DOWN function and the second motor is for the LEFT/RIGHT function. The potentiometers are used to store the vertical and horizontal positions of the mirrors. The potentiometers supply the current position of each motor to the driver seat adjuster memory module.

The driver seat adjuster memory module is located under the driver's seat. The driver seat adjuster memory module controls the entire memory system. The driver seat adjuster memory module is ready for operation after the driver's door is closed and the ignition key is turned to the ON position.

The driver seat adjuster memory module stores all memory data, such as end stops and position data. The position of the memory mirrors can be programmed into the driver seat adjuster memory module by using the memory key and the personal keys, which are located on the driver seat adjuster switch.

Once the memory positions are stored into the driver seat adjuster memory module, the personal keys can be used to activate the mirrors. When one of the personal keys is pressed, the driver seat adjuster memory module actuates the motors in the inside and outside rear view mirrors to the preprogrammed positions.

When the ignition key is turned to the ON position and the driver's door remains closed, the driver seat adjuster memory module will be on standby for approximately 30 seconds. After the 30 seconds, the driver seat adjuster memory module will be disabled. When any door is opened and then closed, the driver seat adjuster memory module will be enabled for approximately 30 seconds after the door is closed.
