Recliner Motor Replacement - Front Power First design seat back

1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement
2. Remove the front seatback cushion foam. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Replacement
3. Remove the front seatback power recliner actuator motor electrical connector.
4. Remove the front seatback power recliner actuator motor mount plate.

Drill out two rivets from the seatback power recliner actuator motor mount plate.




5. Remove the front seatback power recliner drive cable screws.



6. Remove the front seatback power recliner actuator motor and drive cable.



7. Remove the front seatback power recliner actuator screws.
8. Remove the seatback power recliner actuator.

1. Install the front seatback power recliner actuator.




Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the front seatback power recliner actuator screws.

Tighten
Tighten the front seatback power recliner actuator screws until fully seated and not stripped.




3. Install the front seatback power recliner actuator motor and cable.



4. Install the front seatback power recliner drive cable screws.

Tighten
Tighten the front seatback power recliner drive cable screws until fully seated and not stripped.

5. Install the front seatback power recliner actuator motor mount plate.

Install two rivets to the power recliner actuator motor mount plate to secure it to the seatback frame.

6. Install the front seatback power recliner actuator motor electrical connector.
7. Install the front seatback cushion foam. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Replacement
8. Install Front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement

Recliner Motor Replacement - Front Power Second design seat back

1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement
2. Remove the front seatback cushion pad. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement



3. Remove the front seatback power recliner actuator motor electrical connectors.



4. Remove one retaining clip and front seatback recliner actuator shaft from seatback.



5. Remove the front seatback power recliner actuator motor screw.
6. Remove the front seatback power recliner actuator motor from seatback.

1. Install the front seatback power recliner actuator motor.

2. Install the front seatback power recliner actuator motor screw.

Tighten
Tighten the front seatback power recliner actuator screws until fully seated and not stripped.




3. Install the front seatback recliner actuator shaft secure one retaining clip.



4. Install the front seatback power recliner actuator motor electrical connectors.
5. Install the cushion pad. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement
6. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement
