Adm Msg - 02041 - Customer Satisfaction Program Cam Drive Idler and Tensioner Pulleys, and Water Pump-Inspect/Replace (Adm Number CAS20020005 - 10/23/02)

The purpose of this message is to address the Timing Belt Marks used on the 3.0L Catera engine.

1997-1998 Catera 3.0L engines use a service timing belt, P/N 90530599. Some technicians have noticed that the technician aid timing reference marks do not line up when installed. The cause is some timing belts in the 1997-1998 program kit, P/N 55352000, are mis-marked. These belts will have a date code about 42 K 010702. If a technician has a belt with this date code, he should return it to SPO. In order to make the repair, the technician should install an individual service belt, P/N 90530599, with a date code about 46 Q 050702.
