The EBTCM performs various self diagnostic checks that can detect an internal malfunction within the module. DTC 55 will be set if the EBTCM detects a malfunction.
The EBTCM finds an internal malfunction during self diagnosis.
• | A malfunction DTC is stored. |
• | The ABS and the TC indicator lamps will be on. |
• | The ABS and the TCS are disabled. |
• | The condition for the DTC is no longer present. |
• | The scan tool Clear DTCs function is used. |
• | 100 drive cycles have passed with no DTCs detected. |
If the malfunction is intermittent, clear the DTC after completing the diagnosis. Test drive the vehicle for three drive cycles in order to verify that the DTC does not reset. Use the following procedure in order to complete one drive cycle:
