Struts or Shock Absorbers Leak for Cadillac Catera 1999

1. Fully extend the strut (with the wheels unsupported) in order to expose the unit for inspection.



2. Look for signs of leaks in the seal cover area.

•	A slight trace of fluid is not cause for replacement. The seal allows some fluid to pass by in order to lubricate the piston rod.

•	You can easily locate a leaking strut because of the fluid around the seal cover and an excessive amount of fluid on the strut.

3. Replace a leaking strut.
