Removal Procedure
  1. Raise the hood.

    2. Object Number: 163098 Size: SH

    Important: Support the hood in the full open position.

  2. Use a flat-bladed tool to release the hood strut clip.
  3. Unsnap the clip from the upper ball stud.

    4. Object Number: 163107 Size: SH
  4. Remove the hood strut mounting bracket bolts from the fender.
  5. Remove the hood strut.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 163107 Size: SH
  1. Install the hood strut mounting bracket bolts to the fender.
  2. Snap on to upper ball stud.

    3. Object Number: 163098 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Secure with the hood strut clip.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the hood strut mounting bracket bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  4. Remove the hood support.
  5. Lower the hood.
