Fuse #25 supplies B+ to the sun roof actuator at all times. Fuse #15 supplies B+ to the sun roof actuator when the ignition switch is in the ON position. The sun roof actuator is permanently grounded to G103. The sun roof actuator is programmed for each setting of the switch. A potentiometer, which is part of the sun roof actuator, sends a position signal to the sun roof actuator. The sun roof actuator checks the position of the power sun roof using the potentiometer's signal and drives the motor to move the sun roof to match the new switch setting.
The sun roof actuator can also be operated by using the scan tool. When the scan tool is installed and communication has been established, the technician can use the scan tool to operate the sun roof actuator.
The sun roof actuator will need to be programmed every time that the battery is disconnected because the sun roof actuator loses its memory.
When the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position, the sun roof actuator can still be operated by using the sun roof switch knob. The sun roof can be opened and closed as long as all of the doors stay closed. The sun roof will become disabled when any door is opened.
The sun roof can be closed manually if a failure in the power supply occurs or if the sun roof cannot be closed by using the sun roof switch knob. Refer to the owners manual for proper directions.
