Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.

    2. Object Number: 245690 Size: SH
  2. Remove the right side instrument panel access panel.

    3. Object Number: 153467 Size: SH
  3. Remove the outer air deflector screw.

    4. Object Number: 153472 Size: SH
  4. Remove the air deflector.
  5. Remove the outer air deflector bracket screws and remove the air deflector bracket from the IP carrier.
  6. Open the instrument panel compartment.

    7. Object Number: 245692 Size: SH
  7. Remove the lower module cover screws.
  8. Remove the upper module cover bolt.
  9. Remove the inflatable restraint module cover from instrument panel.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the inflatable restraint module cover to instrument panel.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the upper module cover bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the upper module cover bolt to 3  N·m (27 lb in).

  3. Install the lower module cover screws.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the lower module cover screws to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  4. Close the instrument panel compartment.

    5. Object Number: 153472 Size: SH
  5. Install the outer air deflector bracket to the IP carrier.
  6. Install the screws to the outer air deflector bracket.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the outer air deflector bracket screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the outer air deflector.

    8. Object Number: 153467 Size: SH
  8. Install the outer air deflector screw.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the deflector screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the right side access panel.
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
