Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 168500  Size: MH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System .
  2. Remove the passenger seat. Refer to Seat Replacement in Seats.
  3. Remove the nut from the passenger seat belt pretensioner.
  4. Route the passenger seat belt pretensioner wiring harness through the passenger seat bottom frame.
  5. Remove the passenger seat belt pretensioner from the passenger seat bottom frame.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 168500  Size: MH
  1. Install the passenger seat belt pretensioner to the passenger seat bottom frame.
  2. Route the passenger seat belt pretensioner wiring harness through the passenger seat bottom frame.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the nut to the passenger seat belt pretensioner.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the passenger seat belt pretensioner nut to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  6. Install the passenger seat. Refer to Seat Replacement in Seats.
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System .
