When servicing the oil pump rotor and slide on the 125 C transaxle, refer to Service Manual section titled "Oil Pump Rotor and Slide Replacement," which describes the following procedure.
Use a micrometer to measure the original pump rotor and/or slide thickness. Refer to Figure 1. Take measurement on a flat undamaged surface. Select the appropriate service replacement package listed below based on the measurement made on the original part.
1982-1986 T.H.M. 125C (Rotor and Slide Package --------------------------------------------- Rotor (mm) Service Package Number ---------- ---------------------- 17.943 - 17.956 8652903 17.956 - 17.969 8652904 17.969 - 17.982 8652905 17.917 - 17.930 8652906 17.930 - 17.943 8652907
The rotor and slide contained in these service packages were previously available only supplied as individual part numbers. These are now serviced as matched sets and are to be installed together if either part requires replacement.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
