DESIGN CHANGE OF A/C HOSE INDENTIFICATION & INSTALLATION

When replacing O-rings on air conditioning coupled hose assembly connections on late production Cimarrons, the connection design should be carefully identified to assure installation of the correct O-ring.

A running production change will implement a "captive O-ring" design connector that will use an O-ring groove to hold the O-ring (refer to drawing below).

Assembly and tightening procedure is the same for early and late production design; however, the "captive O-ring" design uses different O-rings.

Connectors of this design must use the following part numbered captive O-rings:

O-RING CONNECTION PART NUMBER LOCATION ----------- --------- 3053203 Condenser Fitting 3053204 Accumulator Fitting

Object Number: 94565 Size: MF

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
