1984 MODEL WARRANTY PARTS RETURN PROGRAM

This bulletin does not apply to dealers participating in the 1984 Corporate (allied supplier) or Cadillac Parts Return programs.

In order to evaluate the parts listed on the reverse side a special return program has been established. Any of these parts replaced under warranty through the duration date indicated are to be returned to Cadillac using the following procedure:

1. Order the required replacement part(s) from GMWDD in the usual manner.

2. Ship the inoperative part(s) prepaid, along with a legible photocopy of the repair order, to Cadillac using a black shipping label available from your zone representative. If labels are not readily available, return the subject part(s)to:

Cadillac Motor Car Division 2860 Clark Street Detroit, Michigan 48232 Attention: Material Return Room - Dept. 811

Be sure your dealer name and code number are included on the R.O. copy.

3. Submit a warranty claim in the usual manner, including shipping charges. A copy of the prepaid shipping bill should be retained with the repair order.

As an aid to dealers, these parts will be identified in the 1984 Labor Time Guide Microfiche. Beginning with our next reivision, these parts will be listed in the appropriate Labor Time Guide operations using the same format as "POLICY CODES" (following Part GP. numbers.)

Please make certain that all personnel responsible for handling replaced warranty parts, as well as claims clerks, are aware of this special, important program.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
