The following procedure can be used to repair a 1983-84 'J' car hatchback with a protruding quarter-to-rear end filler panel (see Figure 1)
1. Remove the inside rear speaker cover(s), four (4) bolts each.
2. Remove left and/or right tail lamps, three (3) bolts each.
3. Remove the quarter to rear end filler panel(s), three (3) 10 mm bolts each.
4. Following manufacturers directions, glue the filler panel to the bracket using a 3M Two Part Structural Adhesive or equivalent.
5. Clamp the panel and bracket to hold together for the required drying time.
6. Reverse the procedure to reinstall the filler panel.
