ENGINE STALL/HESITATION AFTER COLD START AND DRIVEAWAY

MODELS AFFECTED: 1986 CIMARRONS WITH 2.8L V-6 ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Some 1986 Cimarrons equipped with 2.8L V-6 engines and automatic transmissions may experience an engine stall, hesitation or an idle surge following a cold start only.

To repair this condition, a service PROM has been developed and is available from GMSPO. Refer to the chart below for the correct PROM application:

If the condition is still present after installing the PROM, refer to:

- Bulletin T-86-54, Group 6C, On Vehicle Cleaning of Port Fuel Injectors

- Bulletin T-87-136, Group 6E, Intermittent Stall After Start or During Deceleration

For warranty purposes use Labor Operation T6324 at .5 hour.
