SOME ROAD SENSING SUSPENSION (RSS) EQUIPPED VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT RSS CODES S037, RS0037, S038 OR RS0038 OR AN INOPERATIVE ELECTRONIC LEVELING CONTROL (ELC) COMPRESSOR.
THIS CONDITION MAY BE CAUSED BY INGESTION OF MOIST AIR THROUGH A LEAK, CUT OR DAMAGED AIR LINE RESULTING IN MOISTURE CONDENSATION INSIDE THE ELC COMPRESSOR. THIS, IN TURN, CAUSES CORROSION RESULTING IN COMPRESSOR FAILURE.
1. DIAGNOSE RSS CODES PER SECTION 3G2 OF THE SERVICE MANUAL. DIAGNOSE ELC COMPRESSOR INOPERATION PER SECTION 3D1 OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
2. IF TROUBLE TREE LEADS TO "REPAIR COMPRESSOR" OR "REPLACE ELC COMPRESSOR HEAD ASSEMBLY", PERFORM THE FOLLOWING:
A. REPLACE ALL LINES FROM THE COMPRESSOR TO BOTH REAR SHOCKS. B. REPLACE THE ELC COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY.
