Preliminary Procedure

Important: Drain only the fluid from the radiator surge tank.

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
3. Remove the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .

Tip
Using J 47622, position the surge tank hose clamp aside and remove the surge tank hose from the heater hose.
