Preliminary Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Remove the front seats. Refer to Driver and Passenger Seat Replacement .

Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel

Tip
Use a J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover to aid in the removal of the 2 lower seat back retainers.

Front Seat Head Restraint

Tip

1. Push in on the button of the inboard head restraint guide to move the head restraint up.
2. Use a small round tool or equivalent to push into the hole on the inside of the outboard head restraint guide to release, then pull up to remove.

Front Seat Head Restraint Guides

Tip
Squeeze the bottom of the head restraint guides together and push upward to remove.

Inflatable Restraint Front Seat Side Module Assembly

Seat Back Cushion Cover

Tip
Disconnect the electrical harness and j-channel from the seat back frame and remove the cover from the seat cushion pad.

Seat Back Cushion Pad

Tip
The pad is secured to the cover with hook and loop fasteners.
