Compass Operation

/ (Auto Highbeam or On/Off): The vehicle may have one of these buttons. Press and hold for approximately three seconds or press to turn the compass on or off.

When the ignition is turned ON and this feature is on, the compass displays in the mirror after a few seconds.

Compass Calibration

If the letter C should ever appear in the compass display window, the compass may need to be calibrated.

If the correct compass direction does not show on the display, there may be a strong magnetic field interfering with the compass, such as a magnetic antenna mount, magnetic note pad holder or a similar magnetic item. Remove the interference and calibrate the compass, if calibrating is needed.

The compass can be placed in calibration mode manually by pressing and holding or depending on the vehicle, until a C is shown in the compass display.

To calibrate, drive the vehicle in a small circle slowly until the display reads the correct direction.

Compass Variance

The mirror is set to zone eight. If you do not live in zone eight or drive out of the area, the compass variance needs to be changed to the appropriate zone.

To adjust for compass variance do the following:

  1. Find the current location and variance zone number on the following zone map.

  2. Object Number: 806305 Size: B4
  3. Press and hold or depending on the vehicle, until a zone number displays.
  4. Once the zone number displays, press or multiple times until the correct zone number displays. Stop pressing the button and the mirror returns to normal operation. If C appears in the compass window, the compass may need calibration. See Compass Calibration listed previously.
